Hartzell Factory Tour & National Museum of the USAF, May 16-17, 2025

Please join us at the Hartzell Factory in Piqua, OH to learn more about composite propeller construction, manufacture and maintenance, as well as Hartzell options to replace the MT propellers on some Diamonds.

Friday, May 16, 2025 – Hartzell Factory Tour – FINAL AGENDA (Updated 5/5/25)

  • Arrival at Hartzell Field/Piqua Airport (I17) 0900 local (EDT)
  • Bus/Van to the Hartzell factory 0930-0945
  • Welcome and technical/sales presentation 1000-1030
  • Factory tour 1045-1200
  • Load, back out to the airport 1200-1215
  • Lunch 1230-1330
  • Depart (Home or to KGDK (see below)) 1400

For those that are NOT local, please book a room for Friday night at the Comfort Suites Dayton-Wright Patterson (across the road from the USAF Museum). There is no group rate as many attendees are local, so we do not have enough for a group rate.

I will be arranging a group dinner Friday night for those staying in the area for the Saturday tour.

Saturday, May 17, 2025 – National Museum of the Air Force

For those that fly in to KGDK, DPA will provide transportation from the Airport to the Hotel on Friday afternoon following the Hartzell Tour (~3pm) and from the Hotel to the National Museum of the Air Force at 8:45am Saturday. DPA will also return everyone to the Airport at 3pm Saturday for departure.

My Piston Power Experience

After five years as a first-time owner, I learned the hard way that the Piston Power “Tip-to-Tail” is not the comprehensive coverage it sounds like: only specific listed items are covered, rates rise unilaterally every year, and you forfeit your entire engine-overhaul account balance if you don’t renew (even when the prices go up and the coverage level drops).
