  1. We are very interested in attending the November 2-3 fly-in at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg Texas. Please advise, should we be booking our room at the Hangar Hotel now or will there be group rate we should wait for?

    1. Merton – please go ahead and make your own reservation. We do not have enough participation yet to get a group discount. At the moment I know of 3 of us attending, need a minimum of 5 to get a group discount is what they told me last year.

  2. Our second annual Northwest gathering will be at SunRiver, OR on this date. Like last year, this will be a 2-day event for those who wish to stay over. Please RSVP so we can get counts for Pizza/BBQ, etc.

If there is enough interest we can arrange for a trip to the High Desert Museum. If someone wanted to stay over I have a bedroom available.

Look up the FAA NOTAMS for KRDM – you will find useful information regarding traffic management in the RDM/DSD are in LTA-ZSE-31.

  3. what are plans for getting together at AirVenture? If this is being covered/chatted about somewhere, I could not find it.
Would be great if we could meet at the Diamond exhibit–not hike outside the EAA area to the food area. Maybe Diamond would provide a dinner, or at least help arrange one we pay for. If no formal fly in, might be able to arrange an agreed time so we end up in same general area on north field?

  4. Same as last year, all Diamond Owners/Pilots are invited to join Diamond Pilots Association (DPA) Members at the SOS Brothers tent (address is 1780 W Waukau Ave) at Oshkosh on Tuesday 23rd – Saturday 27th from 5-6pm. We will be sitting near the 3’X5’ Diamond Pilots Association Banner tie-wrapped to the wooden fence along Waukau Ave, wearing our Diamond hats/shirts. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

  5. Several of us from the DPA Steering Committee met with Diamond Aircraft Industries (DAI) Mgmt two days ago at Oshkosh (Wednesday). DiamondFest will be happening again this year Sept 13-14. It was suggested by Kevin (Canada CEO) that we should re-label it Diamond Homecoming, because DAI really wants to welcome all owners to the factory.

I will post more detail here in the Events Section in the coming days once we have flushed out the program. Basic outline is Dinner/Bar hosted by Diamond at Katana Cafe on Friday evening, Factory tours and DPA Seminars on Saturday morning. More detail to come soon, but block the dates on your calendar and PLAN TO BE THERE!
